Knowing how to send an email is important this day in age and is something everyone has to learn at some point in time. Sending an email is a fairly simple task and is absolutely free.
In order to send an email you must first create an email account. There are several web-based email clients that offer a free account and email address. In this tutorial I will be giving examples of how to use gmail and yahoo mail. There are many more but in my opinion, the ones just mentioned are a couple of the best with gmail being the top dog.
To sign up, search the internet for either of the two email clients I mentioned above and follow the instructions on their homepages. You can begin sending your first email as soon as you are signed up and log into your email account. Below I will explain step-by-step how to send an email with each separate email client.
Gmail by Google
First, sign in to your Gmail account at mail.google.com . Once you are logged in you will need to left click the compose button at the top left of your Gmail account window. A fresh e-mail form should appear with sections named "To" and "Subject" .
The "To" section is where you enter the e-mail address of the person you are trying to send your e-mail to. The "subject" section is where you enter a subject of the e-mail. This can be thought of as the title of your e-mail. It gives the receiver an idea of what the e-mail is about.
After you have filled out both sections, you can begin to write your message in the space provided below the subject section. Once you have finished typing your e-mail, you will need to click the "Send" button at the top left as seen in the picture above. Your e-mail will now be sent.
Yahoo! Mail
Using Yahoo mail to send an e-mail is just as easy. Sign into your account and click the purple compose button at the top left of the screen.
Fill out both sections at the top of the e-mail form and type your email. When you are finished, click the send button to send your e-mail.
Replying to an email is also very simple. This example will work for both of the e-mail clients mentioned above.
Log into your e-mail account and click the inbox tab at the top left. You will know when you have a new a message because the message will generally be a lighter color than the e-mails that you have already opened and read.
To open your e-mail message, double-click it. Once the e-mail is opened you can read it and then reply to it by clicking the "Reply" button. It usually looks like an arrow that is pointing to the left.
A reply for while then appear with e-mail included in it and a space above the e-mail to type your reply message as seen below.
When you are finished typing your reply message, click the send button and your reply will be sent to the person or company that e-mailed you.
